Our membership cateogies are listed below.

New Members

• The New Member program is a training course designed to introduce prospective members to the JLS and prepare for active membership.
• This type of membership only lasts for half of the league year. Once the course is completed, New Members can request Active Membership.

Active Members

• An Active Member of the JLS has completed her New Member year and volunteers her time and talents to our organization and to the community.
• This role comes with placements within the league, which are your league placement, your community placement, and your fundraising placement.
• The above placements will be given each year you remain an Active of Privileged Active Member.

Privileged Active Members

• A Privileged Active is an Active Member who has completed at least seven years of Active service. In this class of membership, she is not required to fundraise on behalf of JLS.
• The Privileged Active Member has the same role as the Active member and continues to play an involved role in the league until the 8 year mark when the decision to become a Sustainer can be made.

Sustainers

• A Sustaining Member is a former Active Member who has completed at least 8 years of Active service.
• Sustainers continue to pay their yearly dues, but do not have the same obligations to the league that an Active or Privileged Active member has.
• Sustainers can continue to volunteer her time to the community through the league if she chooses.
• Once a Sustainer reaches a certain point, they can request to be bumped up to Sustainer Emeritus.

Sustainer Emeritus

• Sustainer Emeritus is a Sustainer who has reached the age of 80 years or has been a Junior League Member for at least 50 years.
• The Sustainer Emeritus is similar to the Sustainer in that they do not have the same obligation to the league that the Active member does.
• Sustainer Emeritus is welcome to continue volunteering through the league to help in the community.
• These women hold the longest and most dedicated level of membership in the league.

Yearly dues are paid on August 31 of each year and are owed by levels of membership in the league.
