Kids in the Kitchen

In 2016, the Junior League of Spartanburg began partnering with the Hub City Farmers Market to establish a bi-monthly placement at which kid-friendly recipes and snacks were available. This partnership coincides with our national Junior Leagues’ Kids in the Kitchen initiative. Today, JLS hosts a table twice a month to share recipes from the Junior Leagues’ Kids in the Kitchen cookbook and make snacks with locally grown produce sold at the market to help educate children and their families about healthy eating.

Upcoming Dates

Due to COVID-19, JLS will not be hosting its table at the Hub City Farmers’ Market until further notice. We look forward to getting back to sharing delicious recipes with you and your children soon!

Hub City Farmers Market

Saturdays | 8AM-12PM | April-December | 498 Howard St.

Presented by Spartanburg Regional Hospital System, the Hub City Farmers Market is a producer-only farmers market in order to support local farmers and educate the community on seasonal produce and nutrition. It is the longest running farmers market in the Upstate and open every Saturday April-December and then the third Saturday of January, February, and March.

Supported by The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc., the goal of the Junior Leagues’ Kids in the Kitchen initiative is to empower youth to make healthy lifestyle choices and help reverse the growth of childhood obesity and its associated health issues.

Children’s health and wellness has been a key issue for Junior Leagues since our founding in 1901. Today, a critical element of our ongoing commitment is teaching kids and their parents about the importance of eating healthy foods and involving them in the fight against childhood obesity.
